Draper James Garden Party

Draper James Garden Party

I recently hosted a garden party to celebrate the launch of Draper James' latest summer collection. I invited some of my girlfriends for an alfresco luncheon out on the back porch and we had the best time giggling in our new Draper James gingham!

First, the FLOWERS!! The beautiful blooms came from Flower Muse and they were stunning. My mom and I arranged peonies, garden roses and hydrangeas into a long garden-like centerpiece that cascaded down the ends of the linen-covered farm table.

Flower Muse flowers are shipped directly to your house from the farm (instead of the traditional from the farm, to an exporter, to an importer, to a wholesaler, to a retailer route) meaing they are fresher and last far longer than the ones you buy at the store. Amazing.

We also arranged flowers in this adorable Draper James basket bag with pink sunglasses. I'm sorry, but I mean, what's cuter than that!?

One of my favorite elements from the party was this antique wheelbarrow filled with ice and elderflower lemonade, welcoming guests on a hot day with something cool and chic to drink.

My sweet friend, Abi McGinnis of Abigail T. Calligraphy pinned so many beautiful elements for the luncheon including place cards of seeds packets for everyone to take home and plant in their gardens to remember the day (I have watermelon seeds sprouting in my garden from my place card!). Abi wore the Freddie Fedora (which I intend on ordering for the beach) and the Sarabeth Gingham Dress.

Melissa from A Happy Healthy Heart made the most delicious healthy lunch including a watermelon mint dish (recipe here) alongside a Panzanella salad (recipe here). How cute is her pink Parton Check Melrose Romper?!

I used the blue and white from my Parton Check Mary Beth Halter Dress as inspiration for table accents.

Everyone gushed over this Lemon Cake with Lavender Frosting. It was delicate and stunning piled high with frosting and flowers. Recipe here.

The show stealer? My daughter, Emmaline (per usual) who had the best time licking icing off the side of the cake and eating ice out of the wheel barrow. haha! She looked precious in her pink Beaufort Bonnet Company rose smocked Addie Angel Sleeve Dress.

What a beautiful day celebrating friends! Thanks Draper James for another fun event!
